Packing Services in Pompano Beach, FL

Full, partial or fragile-only packing by the same crew that loads your truck, with every carton and roll of paper listed in the written estimate.

Packing quietly eats every evening for two weeks before a move, and it is where most moving-day breakage starts. Our packing services in Pompano Beach put that work in the hands of the crew who will also load the truck, so cartons are built, filled, sealed and labeled by people who know how they will stack.

You decide how much to hand over. Some customers want every closet done; others pack their own clothes and leave the kitchen, art and glass to people who wrap fragile things for a living.

Call (831) 293-1195 and walk us through the rooms. Every mover we send is registered with the State of Florida as required and insured. The mover we match you with puts packing labor and materials into its written estimate before anyone opens a roll of tape.

Full packing, partial packing and fragile-only packing

People book packers here in three ways. The right one depends less on the size of the home than on your time and how much you own that can break.

OptionWhat the crew packsWho it tends to suit
Full packingEvery room: closets, cabinets, garage shelves, bathrooms and the kitchenOwners arriving from up north days before closing, or anyone moving a parent out of a long-time home
Partial packingThe rooms you choose, most often the kitchen, the dining room and the living roomPeople happy to box clothes and books but not the china cabinet
Fragile-only packingGlassware, mirrors, framed art, lamps, electronics and collectionsAnyone who has the rest already boxed and only needs the hard pieces done right

Any of the three can be added to a local move in Pompano Beach or to a longer haul with long-distance movers, where cartons ride for days.

When to book packing services in Pompano Beach

Packing help pays off when time, distance or breakables are the real problem, not the furniture. The calls we get usually start with one of these:

  • You land from up north three days before closing, with a full home to box and no evenings to spare.
  • A parent is leaving a house of forty years, and the china cabinet, the photo albums and the hall closet all need careful hands.
  • Both of you work full time, and two weeks of nightly packing would run straight into move day.
  • The building gives you one short elevator window, so every carton has to be sealed before the slot opens.
  • It is June through November, and you want cartons packed close to the move date and sealed tight against humid air and afternoon storms.

If only the glass and art worry you, fragile-only packing is often enough.

What the packers bring: cartons, paper, wardrobe boxes and TV boxes

The crew brings materials sized to the job you described on the call, typically:

  • Small cartons for books, tools and anything dense, so no box gets too heavy to lift
  • Medium and large cartons for pots, small appliances, linens, pillows and lampshades
  • Dish packs, the double-wall boxes used for plates, bowls and stemware
  • Unprinted packing paper, which wraps china without leaving newsprint ink behind
  • Wardrobe boxes with a hanging bar, so clothes go from closet to closet on their hangers
  • Flat-screen TV boxes and mirror or picture cartons with corner protection
  • Tape, markers and stretch wrap for drawers and loose parts

How a packing job runs, step by step

  1. The walk-through. On the call or a short video, you show us the cabinets, closets, bookshelves, art and garage shelving, and point out anything that stays behind.
  2. Cartons and hours on paper. The mover estimates boxes by type and packer hours, and both appear in its written estimate before packing day.
  3. A do-not-pack zone. You clear one closet or bathroom for documents, medications, keys, chargers and your first-night bag, and tape a sign on the door.
  4. The slowest rooms first. Packers usually open with the kitchen and the china cabinet and leave the bedrooms and bathrooms you still use for last.
  5. Labels you can read on a stack. Each carton gets its room and a short contents note on the side as well as the top, plus a fragile mark where it applies.
  6. Sealed and staged indoors. Finished cartons are taped on both seams and stacked by room inside the home, not left overnight in a hot garage.
  7. Unpacking at the other end, if you booked it. The kitchen goes first so you can cook that night, and the crew hauls the paper and empty cartons away.

Packing a seasonal condo: furnished units, owner closets and what stays behind

A lot of the units along A1A are sold or rented furnished, so the job is packing only what leaves. That gets tricky in a kitchen where half the dishes convey with the sale and half go north.

  1. Mark everything that stays with one color of painter's tape, and tell the crew the color before they start.
  2. Lock or clear the owner closet if the unit is rented out, so tenant-season linens do not end up in your cartons.
  3. Photograph each room before packing begins, which settles later questions with a buyer or rental agent.
  4. Book packing inside the building's elevator and loading-area hours, which many associations set tightly.

Owners still up north can arrange this by phone, with a neighbor or the building manager letting the crew in. Our notes on moving during snowbird season on the Broward coast cover booking ahead, and the Lauderdale-by-the-Sea movers page covers the small beachside buildings where seasonal moves are most common. If the move itself is the bigger worry, see our apartment and condo movers.

Kitchens, glassware, artwork and mirrors

Kitchen packing

The kitchen is the slowest room in nearly every home. Plates are wrapped and stood on edge in dish packs rather than stacked flat, glasses get stuffed and wrapped or go into cell dividers over a crushed-paper cushion. Sort the pantry first: open flour, oil and spices are usually better given away than packed.

Art and mirrors

Framed pieces go into telescoping picture cartons with corner guards. A large canvas, a sculpture or a glass tabletop may not fit any standard carton. Ask the mover whether it will build a crate for it or recommend someone who does.

Salt air, heat and humidity: what should not sit in a truck or a garage

In coastal Broward, a box packed three weeks early and stacked in a garage can come out worse than it went in. Cardboard softens in humid air, tape lets go, and a closed garage in July runs far hotter than the house.

Keep these out of the garage and, where you can, carry them in your car rather than the truck:

  • Candles, vinyl records, photographs and film negatives
  • Wine, medications and anything temperature-sensitive
  • Laptops, hard drives and camera gear
  • Musical instruments and fine wood pieces

From June through November, also leave room in your timing for afternoon storms. Our guide to moving in hurricane season on the Broward coast covers keeping cartons dry if a storm hits mid-load.

Packing the day before vs the morning of the move

TimingWorks well whenWatch for
Day beforeThe home is larger, the kitchen is full, or there is a lot of art and glassOne night among boxes; pack an overnight bag with medications
Morning ofIt is a smaller condo or apartment, or only part of the home needs packingA longer day, and the elevator window has to cover packing and loading

Bigger waterfront homes, like many on the canals covered by our Lighthouse Point movers page, almost always pack the day before. A one-bedroom with a tight elevator slot often packs the same morning.

Unpacking and debris removal

Unpacking is the half of the service people forget to ask about. The crew can empty cartons, set dishes in the cabinets you point to, and leave you rooms you can use that night.

Just as useful is taking the debris away. Flattened cartons and bags of paper fill a condo trash room quickly, and many buildings and 55+ communities limit what residents can leave by the chute. Families moving a parent into or out of a place like Century Village East, covered on our Deerfield Beach movers page, often book unpacking for exactly this reason. Our senior community move plan walks through that kind of move start to finish.

What affects packing cost

The mover's written estimate sets the price, and it should show packing labor and materials as separate lines. What moves those lines:

  • Volume and contents. A full kitchen or a glass collection takes far more hours than a sparsely furnished unit.
  • Crew size and hours, shown in the estimate.
  • Materials. Dish packs, wardrobe boxes and TV cartons are usually counted per piece.
  • Custom crating for art, marble or glass tops.
  • A separate packing day, which can mean an extra trip and travel time.
  • Unpacking and debris removal, priced as added hours.
  • Building limits, such as short elevator windows that stretch the job.

Our service areas around Pompano Beach page lists every city where we take packing jobs.

Why Pompano Go Movers for packing

  • Materials counted before packing day. We go through cabinets, closets and art on the call so the mover brings the right mix of dish packs, wardrobe boxes and TV cartons, and a midday run for more boxes is less likely.
  • Only the help you need. If fragile-only packing covers the real risk, we say so instead of steering you to a full pack.
  • Building limits planned in. When the elevator window is short, we raise a day-before pack early so the slot goes to loading, not taping.
  • Coverage explained before you box anything. We flag that self-packed cartons may be treated differently under the contract, so you can decide which rooms to hand over.
  • Registered, insured people in your closets. Packers spend hours inside your home. Each mover we send is registered with the State of Florida and insured, and you can check that before the first carton is built.

Packing Services: common questions

How long does it take to pack a two-bedroom condo?

Often most of one working day for a crew of two or three packers, with the kitchen alone taking several hours. A lightly furnished seasonal unit goes faster than a full-time home with books, collections and a stocked pantry. Tell the mover about china cabinets, art and closet contents on the call so it can send the right number of packers and decide whether to start the day before.

Can I pack some rooms myself and have packers do the rest?

Yes, and it is one of the most common ways people book packing. You might box clothes, books and the garage yourself and leave the kitchen, art and glass to the crew. Label what you have done, keep your boxes in one room, and tell the mover which rooms are left so the estimate covers only that work.

Are boxes I pack myself covered the same way as boxes the movers pack?

Often not. Many movers limit liability for damage inside cartons the customer packed, because the crew never saw how items were wrapped, while crew-packed boxes fall under the valuation you chose. The exact terms are in the mover's written contract, so read that section before move day. For your own fragile boxes, use sturdy cartons and plenty of paper.

What will movers not pack?

Movers will not pack hazardous materials such as gasoline, propane tanks, paint, pool chemicals, fireworks or ammunition, and most leave out perishable food and live plants. Cash, jewelry, passports, financial papers and daily medications should travel with you, not in a carton. Ask the mover for its full list on the call so nothing surprises you on packing day.

Do the packers bring the boxes and supplies, or do I buy them?

The crew normally brings everything, sized to what you described on the call: cartons, dish packs, wardrobe boxes, TV cartons, paper and tape. Materials are usually charged per piece and listed in the written estimate, so ask how unused cartons are handled. If you are packing some rooms yourself, sturdy boxes of your own are fine for clothes and books, but most crews prefer their own cartons for anything fragile, since how a box was packed affects how damage claims are treated.

What should I do before the packers arrive?

Decide what is not going and get it out of the way: donations, trash and anything that stays with a furnished unit. Run the last load of laundry, empty the dishwasher, eat down the freezer and take out the garbage, because packers will box whatever they find. Set aside your do-not-pack items in one closed room, clear a path to the door and reserve parking or the loading area if the building requires it. Then stay reachable for questions while the crew works.
